Presentation of the DRC Switch
General diagram
Role of the DRC Switch
- Synchronize the regulator managing the same zone. It copies the outputs of the DRC10 regulator defined as master of the slaves.
- Filter the communication on segment 2 of the SWITCH. This technique increases the performances of the bus as well as the response time.
- Make a galvanic insulation between segment 1 and segment 2.
- Convert the communication signal of the PC: “RS 232” in comprehensible signal for DRC10 regulator: “RS 485”
- Produce an amplifier when there are more than 200 regulators on a segment of bus. For more information: See the DRC bus topology
Function of the DRC Switch
- DRC SWITCH permanently listens to communication on segment 1 (segment “upstream”). If this has as a destination an accessible DRC 10 regulator via segment 2 (segment “downstream”), the SWITCH will transmit information on segment 2. Moreover, the SWITCH will synchronize the DRC 10 regulator, directly connected to the downstream segment, which manages the same zone for (master-slave functionality). Thanks to two interfaces RS 485 and RS 232 on segment 1 you have the choice to connect
- In mode RS-232 if you connect a PC directly.
- In mode RS-485 if you connect a DRC bus.
